Some Examples On Natural Treatment For Yeast Infections

A vaginal yeast infection can be characterized by irritation, intense itchiness, and discharge. It affects the vagina and the surrounding tissues at the opening.
These infections can be very common. Four out of 5 women can get one at some point in their lifetimes. Men can also get them but not nearly as often as women.
Fortunately, yeast infections are not considered a sexually transmitted infection; they can however spread through oral-genital contact. Simple treatment to these infections can be effective. If you happen to have chronic infections, simple treatments may not be enough, and you may need to find the root of the cause or try alternative choices.
If you are a first time sufferer of a yeast infection, it is important to visit your doctor. If you are well acquainted with these infections, then it may be beneficial for you to find some natural treatments to relieve your systems.
Some risk factors to these infections can include:
Antibiotics
Increased Estrogen Levels ( usually from birth control)
Uncontrolled Diabetes
Sexual Activity
Poor Immune System
Too much sugar and carbohydrates
Treatment for these infections can vary. There have been a number of natural ways tested. Before trying any kind of natural treatment for a yeast infection, you should check with your doctor first to weigh the pros and cons of the situation.
Some examples of natural treatments are:
Yogurt - There has been some success with women who have tried lactobacillus-containing yogurt. The yogurt can be taken orally or applied vaginally. Studies that have shown yogurt to be effective to reduce yeast infections and provide relief with various groups of women. Those tested have had mild infections, as well as chronic ones.
Boric Acid - This can be a vaginal insert that is available by prescription. This can work well with chronic or ongoing symptoms that do not respond to other treatments. Boric acid may be effective against some less common strains of candida since some of these strains can be resistant to other treatments. The downfall is that this acid can irritate your skin and is also toxic if swallowed.
There are many other natural treatments that may benefit you but the two I mentioned above are very common. No matter what kind of natural treatment for a yeast infection you choose, it is always a smart idea to do your research first in order to not encounter any problems.

4 Great Home Remedies For Blackheads

Blackheads on facial skin are a very common problem during teenage years. They are caused when dirt and dead cells get accumulated in the pores of the skin and they have an unattractive black appearance. One reason for their occurrence is hormonal changes in the body. They can take away from your looks because they are located in highly visible parts of your face. While you can use certain over the counter pharmaceutical products to get rid of blackheads, it's a good idea to try out the following great home remedies to exfoliate your skin and keep them under control:
- Baking soda paste can be applied to the skin to get rid of debris and impurities. This simple face pack can be used every week to keep your face as clean as possible.
- A mask made of egg whites can be applied thickly and evenly to the face and allowed to dry out. When it is absolutely dry use a damp wash cloth to scrub it away from the face. This face mask doesn't smell very good but it is highly effective.
- An oatmeal face pack made of powdered oatmeal, natural yogurt and honey can also be used.
- Milk mixed with fresh lemon juice can also be applied to the face to get rid of dirt in your pores. Milk contains lactic acid which is very effective at breaking down the impurities in your skin. The citric acid present in lemon juice is also very useful.
You need to keep a couple of things in mind when using these great home remedies for blackhead control. Never use harsh products on your face or scrub it very hard. You will only damage your skin by being rough with it and this will result in the premature onset of aging. It is advisable to use light and circular motions when applying any product to your face and taking it off. You should also apply steam to your face for a few minutes before using any of these remedies since steam helps to open up the pores of the skin and make the dirt more accessible.
These home remedies blackheads solutions can easily be obtained from your kitchen or store cupboard. You should also wash your face twice every day in order to keep it as clean as possible. In addition, you should also wear only non-comedogenic products, taking care to remove them off your skin every night.

3 Practices for Developing the Health and Performance of Your Psychic Anatomy and Psychical Body

Like Qi-gong, Kundalini Yoga and Tantra Yoga, these practices (Psychic Anatomy Exercises, Psychic Anatomy Yoga and Psychic Anatomy Treatments) work with psychic energies (aka. energy, chi, qi, ki, prana, spirit, emotional and mental energies, energies of your psyche/consciousness) to enhance the health and performance of your Mind-Body-Spirit. A major difference is in how they attract and focus psychic energies upon specific and general parts of your psychic anatomy (aka. energy anatomy, invisible anatomy; ex. aura, chakras, wheels of light, auric bodies, koshas, lightbodies, meridians, nadis, hara) and physical body using comprehensive and systemic routines. There are no other practices like them, and very few that even come close when it comes to being comprehensive, systematic and supported by the traditional and scientific literature; they are supported by over 2000 traditional and scientific references.
Your psychic anatomy is the interface between your physical body and psychic energies. As its health and performance improves, your abilities to use it for becoming aware of and controlling psychic energies improves as well. Whether it is the psychic energy practice of Qi-Gong, Yoga, an Energy Healing-Empowerment modality (ex. Reiki, Hands on Healing, Quantum Touch) or Psychic Anatomy Exercises/Yoga/Treatments, enhancing the health and performance of your psychic anatomy will make you more effective at them, gaining their benefits faster (discussed below), because it gives you the skills that are utilized within them (ex. awareness and control of psychic energies).
If obtaining these benefits are considered a sport, Psychic Anatomy Exercises, Psychic Anatomy Yoga and Psychic Anatomy Treatments can be considered athletic training for them, as well as the sport!
In general, the spiritual benefits are enhanced the most, because they come from your psychic anatomy. Some specific examples are the improved ability to attract healthy and release unhealthy psychic energies from yourself, environments and other people (control of psychic energies). Another example is the development of Extrasensory Perception/Sixth Sense (awareness of psychic energies), which has many features to it, such as Intuition, Clairvoyance, Remote Viewing and Precognition. These are both very big benefits for living to your fullest potential!
Another very important benefit is empowering the connection to your soul/Higher-Self and God/Highest-Self (aka. Brahman, Allah, Creator, Source, The Essence of Self and All Creation). Your psychic anatomy is the bridge to your soul and soul plane/dimension. Your soul is still connected to the soul plane when it incarnates, where it is better connected to God. By enhancing the health and performance of your psychic anatomy, you can more easily receive guidance and blessings (healing and empowerment) from your soul, the soul dimension and God. FYI: Guidance and blessings come to you as psychic energies.
Developing the health and performance of your psychic anatomy can radically accelerate your progress towards spiritual enlightenment in other ways as well. As it becomes healthier and better performing, it can absorb more psychic energies of a higher quality and integrate with them more easily/quickly, allowing more of your soul to incarnate/awaken into you as a human being. This is the process of enlightenment. The Psychic Anatomy/Yoga/Treatments also teach techniques that facilitate this directly, such as Ascending/Descending, Cycling and Turning Inwards. They make a big difference!
Very important parts of this are the changes that occur to the structure of your entire being. Your psychic anatomy and physical body are antenna-resonators for psychic energies and you as a soul. As you evolve/enlighten to higher qualities and quantities of psychic energies, and more of your soul incarnates/awakens, the crystalline structure of your entire being is refined/change. Ascending/Descending, Cycling and Turning Inwards help focus psychic energies in systematic ways upon significant parts of your psychic anatomy and physical body to facilitate these refinements/changes.
With an improving connection to your soul, soul plane and God, the guidance and blessings that comes from them will continually improve as well. Eventually you will get to the point where you have a knowingness (guidance) about everything, which will save you a lot of time, money and effort, as well as make you more effective at living your meanings in life well. From what and when to eat, to big decisions, such as how to educate yourself, your spiritual guidance (Intuition) is far superior to what you can achieve with human logic.
As the blessings of healing and empowerment become more powerful, the health and performance of your entire being will continually improve. This will make it easier for you to help other people enhance the health and performance of their entire being by focusing healing and empowering psychic energies upon them. This is known as Energy Healing-Empowerment (ex. Reiki, Healing Touch, Prayer). Only the Psychic Anatomy Treatments teaches comprehensively the fundamental techniques and concepts of all modalities, as well as psychic anatomy.
These spiritual benefits are big ones, but they are by no means the only benefits you can expect from these practices. Mental benefits include improved focus, clarity, stamina and being biased towards positive thoughts. Of particular interest is being able to support the development of your prefrontal cortex, which is the most important part of your brain for making good decisions, focus/will-power, emotional management and intuition (see the Brain Enhancement Exercise Meditation {BEEM} as taught in the Inner and Outer Success Self-Help Program for details). Emotional benefits include calmness, clarity, stability and being biased towards positive emotions.
Both mental and emotional benefits are primarily the result of improved psychic anatomy health and performance, because mental and emotional psychic energies are very much a part of your psychic anatomy. These practices do need some help with more difficult mental and emotional challenges at times (all psychic energy practices do), such as past traumas and long term unhealthy influences (ex. being pessimistic or in the presence of it). I recognized this a long time ago, which caused me to focus on the subjects of Self-Help. I developed the Inner and Outer Success Self-Help Program to provide you with every advantage for rising above the unhealthy influences of your past and empowering positive influences for your future.
Benefits to your physical body are general to improved cell function and biochemistry, because your psychic anatomy interfaces with your physical body electromagnetically on a molecular/atomic/quantum level. As the health and performance of your psychic anatomy improves, its electromagnetic influence upon your physical body becomes more coherent and powerful, facilitating physical health and performance. Common scientific observations are improved healing, immunity, strength, endurance, balance, digestion and more.
Physical benefits are in general slower to achieve, because the physical body is a very dense form of energy, hence changing it with less dense energy (psychic energies) takes time. Some physical benefits can be experienced more quickly though, especially in healing situations, because the part that needs healing is usually out of balance with you as a whole, hindering your whole from reaching greater states of health and performance, making it a high unconscious priority.
As well, when first being exposed to these practices, it is common for healings and empowerment to occur more quickly. The reason for this is that several issues might only need a small amount of help to breach the barrier towards better health and performance. A lot of benefits can occur quickly in group practices as well. This is more common with groups who are experienced, because they cultivate a higher quality and abundance of psychic energies, which the beginners can draw upon, as well as the presence of their psychic anatomy's health and performance, which beginners will unconsciously reference/resonant with.
When it comes to healing from long term illnesses, both physical emotional and mental, it could take months of a healthier diet, increased rest, appropriate physical exercise, self-help techniques, therapies, Psychic Anatomy Exercises/Yoga/Treatments for a complete recovery to occur. It took a long time to get unhealthy, maybe generations, so it might take a while to get healthy a gain. With this being said, trauma can cause a lot of damage in a short amount of time as well.
You are connected physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. This is the Mind-Body-Spirit connection (Psychosomatics), which is scientifically observable. As the health and performance of your psychic anatomy improves, unhealthy psychic energies are detoxified, which causes unhealthy thoughts and emotions to be detoxified as well, which Self-Help techniques can facilitate. As well, physical toxins can be detoxified, which physical techniques can facilitate.
From the insights of becoming more aware of psychic energies to the potential of controlling them to heal and empower yourself and others holistically (Mind-Body-Spirit), enhancing the health and performance of your psychic anatomy is an important part of living your meanings in life to your fullest potential. If you are not sure what your meanings in life are, these benefits will help you learn them as well, especially with the help of the other techniques within the Inner and Outer Success Self-Help Program.
I recommended starting with my book Inner and Outer Success for an introduction to these practices, as well as other techniques that greatly compliment them.

How to End Stress (Really!)

Recent studies completed by a research team led by Carnegie Mellon University's Sheldon Cohen has found a direct correlation between chronic psychological stress and the body's immune system. Simply put, the research suggests that chronic stress reduces the body's ability to fight disease and disrupts its ability to regulate inflammation, which can promote the progression and development of disease.
These findings serve to scientifically confirm what traditional healers have held for many years: our physical health is a function of our psychological / spiritual health.
As an engineering scientist with a Master's Degree from the University of Minnesota, I appreciate the importance of having hard data to confirm gut assumptions. At a gut level, we know stress is not good for us. But how do we get to the root cause of stress to remove it from our experience? Is this even possible?
What is Stress?
Stress is essentially mental or physical strain due to either an external or internal pressure. Common to all forms of stress is a disruption in the proper functioning of a system. A sprained ankle, for example, could render a world-class athlete incapable of the simple act of walking. Similarly, when internal conditions like fear and worry take root in our minds, we experience different degrees of inner stress. Our thoughts become beclouded; our judgment diminishes. Our entire being becomes overwhelmed by a disempowering feeling of fear. The chemical composition of our body literally loses its balance, which can and does cause an array of illnesses. Stress is deadly, perhaps the deadliest thing around. Stress should be avoided at all cost. It has no value. Zero.
Life's Challenges
Life is inherently challenging to be sure, but it need not be stressful. Think of it like this: the gifted athlete who is training for the Olympics is faced with challenges each day he practices. He has the challenge of completing difficult drills over and over again. He works his butt off in order to be the best. Challenges, viewed correctly, are needed to help us be better - to help us grow. When we face a challenge with the right attitude, we are forced to become bigger, stronger, faster... some grander version of ourselves in order to overcome the challenge. This has immense benefits to our physical and spiritual development.
But what about sudden, tragic events like the death of a loved-one or the loss of a job? How can we possibly cope with these events without experiencing some level of inner stress? It is important for us to realize that stress is not the same as concern or grief. Grieving the loss of a loved-one is a natural human response that does not necessarily create inner stress. When we grieve, we may experience bouts of intense sadness, may cry and even feel hopeless for a time. Similarly, the loss of a job may cause us to feel insecure or angry. Our emotions, however intense, do not cause a stress response within our bodies and minds unless the emotions become entrenched, repetitive and colored by a disempowering sense of fear. Fear is at the root of chronic stress.
Moreover, when dealing with truly stressful circumstances (being late for work and not being able to find your keys are not in this category) like the loss of a job or the death of a loved-one, we should consider that our lives have a deeper, spiritual dimension. Whether or not one believes in a spiritual dimension there is much scientific evidence that suggests that our reality is so much more than we imagine. If the great spiritual Educators of humanity are correct, then the brief span of our years here on earth is not the complete story of our existence. Life - conscious life - continues after physical death. A spiritually sensitized person has the capacity to perceive the deeper meaning in every experience. This expanded awareness can help shield us from chronic stress in even the most tragic of circumstances.
Putting an End to Stress
Firstly, let's make sure we realize that no-one or no thing can stress us out. We manufacture our own stress. Remember that. You have the copyright and patent to your stress. No-one other than you can create your stress. If we manufacture our own stress (believe me, we do) then we can do away with it altogether. Yes! It is possible.
Here are some tips to help you live a stress-free life:
1. Never again blame anything that happens outside of you for your stress. Take full responsibility for your internal state. If you feel stressed-out, realize that you are manufacturing the stress based on your perceptions. Stress is never imposed from without; it always arises from within.
2. Begin a meditative practice right away. Many of us living in the West are afraid of meditation. We think it's some strange Eastern practice that only monks do. If you think like this, wake up! Meditation is nothing more than quieting the mind for a period. This has scientifically proven beneficial effects (not the least of which is reducing stress).
3. Become more aware of the moments when you feel stressful and ask yourself: What is causing my stress? And, what is the benefit of me being stressed right now? You will begin to realize (if you do this routinely) that your stress is manufactured by you and that it is not helping you. It is very likely it is making you sick, causing you to have headaches and hijacking your sleep. Remember, your stress has no value.
4. Discover your passion and take action - I know this is not so simple, but believe me when I tell you that persons who are truly passionate about what they do are able to face many challenges without being overwhelmed by stress. Stress is not a sign of being busy, it is a sign of being lost internally. When your internal compass is off, just about anything - any unexpected change, any challenge, any discomfort - is perceived as a threat and causes stress. Becoming balance within is the panacea for stress. Attaining inner balance certainly does not remove life's challenges - nothing can - but it allows us to face challenges without becoming stressed (i.e. overwhelmed by fear).

Emerging And New Dental Technology

Technology has improved dental procedures and made them more efficient to help make treatments smoother. This field is rapidly evolving, which benefits patients. It is a good idea to schedule a trip to the dentist if you think you have a complicated dental issue. You might be pleasantly surprised with what emerging and new technology can do for you. There are many different procedures that can be very beneficial to you and provide your teeth with a complete makeover. Become familiar with these dental technologies so you will have a better idea of what you need and how they can benefit you.
Digital X-Rays
Compared to traditional x-rays, digital ones are a lot faster. When a digital x-ray is performed, the image will appear on the screen in just a couple of seconds. Also, the technology provides a better view. The dentist is able to zoom in and get a better look at your teeth. It makes it easier to identify potential problems. Also, the technology is not as harmful due to it containing less radiation. Traditional x-rays contain up to 90 percent more radiation than digital x-rays do.
Laser Dentistry
Lasers really are ideal. They help with eliminating discomfort that many dental procedures produce and also helps with improving efficiency. Laser treatments are used to reduce sensitivity in teeth, in whitening procedures, treating tumors and filling cavities. Laser dentistry is painless and also effective and fast in dealing with bacteria so that further teeth complications can be avoided.
Invisalign
Invisalign are clear and invisible braces that help with straightening your teeth out. This alternative is better because its straightens your teeth without needing to wear metallic and heavy braces. It is also easy to clean and take them out. Invisalign braces do not have any food restrictions. More people are choosing this technology since it is so non-obtrusive.
Dental Implants
Basically dental implants are screw replacements that fill the root part of missing teeth. They are perfect for restoring beautiful smiles for individuals with missing teeth. Dental implants are used for replacing teeth. They also provide patients with the feel and appearance of natural teeth.
VELscope
Basically VELscope is a unique kind of light. It shines into a patient's mouth so that abnormalities can be detected. This new technology has proven to be quite effective, particularly with detecting early stages of cancer. Many patients are benefiting from this technology. It is used for oral cancer screenings.
DIAGNOdent
This is a new state-of-the-art application and technology that dentists are using to help detect cavities that are hiding in areas that can't be found by x-rays. It is a very useful technology that examines your mouth to check for signs of cavities during the early stages. Early detections means you won't need to spend money later on treatment and it also helps to prevent the expansion of the cavities.
Zoom! Whitening
This new teeth whitening technique offers better and faster results. Zoom whitening only needs one dentist visit to make a big impact on the appearance of your teeth and greatly enhances your smile. This technique can turn your teeth eight shades whiter.
Advanced and new dental techniques can greatly impact your life and smile. Visit Be Well Dental for tips and more information.

What Would You Prefer - A Holiday or Heart Attack?

On a trip to sun-drenched Hua Hin in Thailand, it really opened my eyes to the lack of healthy people. For those of you not familiar with Hua Hin, it is a relaxing beach side town 144km south west of Bangkok. On average, it provides residents and visitors with a glorious 260 days of sun per year. Plus, you can live like Kings and Queens because the food and accommodation is relatively cheap.
However, what astounded me was that 90% of the people (excluding the locals) were out of shape or overweight - a heart attack or Type 2 diabetes in the makings. Whether you're on a holiday or business trip you can and should take care of your health. Especially if you have children as they learn from the parents.
My trip was a mixture of business and leisure. Having turned 40 I allowed myself to indulge a little for this extra special occasion! As long as most of the time your diet is great, your body will be able to cope with a bit of indulgence. Yet, what I saw everyday were most people filling their plates with fatty, processed and non-nutritious foods, washed down with soft drinks or sodas.
My breakfast usually started with some fresh fruit and salad. Sometimes I had a freshly made omelette, other times it was sauteed vegetables. The rainbow of colours meant that there were plenty of nutrients.
I asked a tourist who was visiting from Europe if I could take a photo of his meal. He looked at me strangely but obliged. The plate was full of bread loaded with margarine and also a croissant with jam. It just looked bland, boring, lifeless and not nutritious at all. It was just a plate of processed carbs, fat and sugar, not to mention all the additives and preservatives hidden within. This plate of food is devoid of quality nutrients.
He asked what the photo was for? I attempted to explain what I do as well as the difference between our meals, and to eat more of the foods I had on my plate. There were language barriers but I think I convinced him; the thumbs up sign for positive affirmation seemed to work. And, especially after someone had explained to him that I just turned 40 and it was translated back to me that he thought I looked 28! Over the course of the trip I did see him getting some fresh fruit which was a great. Bit by bit I say - gradually bring change into your daily habits for a lifelong, healthy positive change.
What's scary though is that this person was not the only one... the majority of people were eating the same as him and so were their children. All this is doing is clogging up your system and filling you up with lots of calories but zero nutrients.
Imagine the two plates of food. The healthier option is colourful whereas the other is monotone - it looks lifeless in terms of colours and as they say, "You are what you eat." Rainbow targeting is one of, if not the greatest way to eat. Lots of colourful wholefoods means a broad spectrum of nutrients that supply your body with the tools it needs to keep you healthy.
What I also couldn't believe is that many people just about never moved. You'd see them in the same spot all day every day. What ever happened to using those beautiful beaches to go for a walk, a run or a swim? Laziness and lack of movement not only helps to stack on the kilos but also makes you more and more lethargic. It was great though, to see a few people doing yoga and meditation on the beach as the sun rose. So at least there were some people looking after themselves but they were definitely the minority.
Many people use a holiday or business trip as an excuse to let themselves go and eat crap. Here are some of the excuses, "I'm on holiday, I want to enjoy myself by eating what I want." "It doesn't have the same food that I have at home, so I have to have the unhealthy alternative because that's what I know." I've heard them all before.
It really doesn't have to be this way. Here are 5 simple tips on how you can stay healthy whilst on a trip.
1. Portion control - whether you're at a hotel/resort or self-catering accommodation, make sure you opt for the entree-sized plate, and not the main size. If there are no smaller plates then you don't have to pile the food on.
2. Aim to fill your plate with 2/3 fresh fruit and salads. These have high water content so will help fill you up and provide you with lots of nutrients. Plus, by having some raw foods the enzymes help with digestion unlike the cooked foods that have most of the enzymes cooked out of them.
3. Exercise! I'm not talking about running a half marathon every day, but make sure you get a decent amount of movement. Therefore, if you do indulge a little then you will be burning up those calories. This could be as simple as a 30 minute walk along the beach or walking up and down stairs in a park.
4. Drink lots of water and good fluids - especially if you are visiting a place with a warmer climate, as you'll most likely sweat more. Therefore you'll need to replenish the fluids you've lost plus some.
5. Do your research - read trip reviews and forums to understand the area you are visiting. When you get to your destination speak to the locals about where to go to get good food, whether that be at a market or wherever. Sometimes language barriers are a challenge. You could get some of the basics from people before you go. And what also works a treat often are pictures!
It really isn't hard to stay healthy on a trip. So, don't be another heart attack waiting to happen when you go away! Be sensible but also allow a little indulgence if you've been good.

Your Bone Health - Don't Neglect This Often Forgotten First Step

No doubt you're well aware of how important it is to protect your bone health, especially as you age. And you're probably motivated to do it, too. Seeing those old people stooped over, unable to hold themselves upright, faces contorted with the effort, are difficult to forget.
You likely also know the important role that calcium plays. After all, bones are made from that important mineral (among others.) You might even be taking a calcium supplement, perhaps it was even recommended to you by a health professional. You might even have added some vitamin D as well.
But is that sufficient to protect you? Are calcium and vitamin D adequate to keep your bones healthy?
In a word, no. What's often missing is a crucial step that happens in bone formation before the step in which bones are mineralized with calcium. And just because it's one you rarely hear about, doesn't mean it's not important. In fact it's so important, that if you miss it, you will never have healthy bones, no matter how much calcium and vitamin D you pour into your body.
To understand why, it's important to know how bones are formed. In short, before the bones can use calcium to become hardened and strong, they have to have a connective tissue matrix. Then, once this matrix is made, vitamin K attaches itself to the cross links in the net, and only then does the calcium become attached.
Without that matrix, the mineralization process has no where to attach itself to. In fact, the relative strength of this net is why two people can have the same bone mineral density, but one suffers fractures and the other does not.
In short, connective tissue is the mother of bones.
How can you support the formation of a healthy connective tissue so it can form the strands and weave itself together so that bone minerals can deposit themselves?
Building a strong connective tissue matrix is supported through making certain it has the components necessary to assemble itself into the strands that later will hold bone deposits. Those strands are made up of the following components:
1. Protein.
2. Silicon
3. Manganese
4. Vitamin C
5. Vitamin E, and
6. Vitamin A.
Happily, a diet composed of whole organic foods with at least 30% of them raw, will supply these nutrients, so that supplementation is not routinely required.
But there's one more key ingredient to building healthy connective tissue, which is that the body needs to be 'instructed' to do it. Such commands are driven by hormones. Again, you might think you're 'covered' in that department if you are taking progesterone and estrogen, or if you know your blood test levels for those two hormones came back normal. Again, this is incorrect.
The 'orders' to build connective tissue are given by the hormone testosterone. Yes, testosterone in both men and women is the hormone that drives production of connective tissue.
Keep the six nutrients listed above coming in to your body in adequate amounts, and keep your testosterone levels normalized, and you will have the key ingredients necessary to build the connective tissue matrix that must be in place before you can harden bones with deposits of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus.
If you're concerned about your bone health, you're invited to get a free questionnaire so you can assess your own bone health. To do that, go to http://www.PerfectBones.com.

How to Gain Weight Fast: 7 Tips for Skinny Guys

Gaining weight can be so frustrating for anyone - trust me I know I was a super skinny guy for years. I know how it feels to bust your butt in the gym 5 days a week and not put on a single pound! Some guys seem to be able to train 3 times per week and eat whatever they want and still look amazing. Well lucky for them they have great genetics on their side.
So what about the rest of us?
After months of article reading, researching and talking to the "big guys" I have found some great tips that work amazingly well. I have transformed my body and so can you! So I have decided to share what I have found with you.
This article will give you the tools that you need to go out there and achieve the physique you desire. I will be giving you specific advice on nutrition, training and lifestyle that I want you to read and follow.
How to Gain Weight and Build Lean Muscle
Tip#1 Goal Setting
Before you start you need to set some realistic goals that are personal to you! If you don't have goals then you're training and dieting becomes less specific. Achieving your goals regularly will motivate you to keep going and train harder and diet smarter.
To achieve your desired long term results you need to set short term goals that are SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time scale).
A good guide for gaining lean muscle fast is to try and put on at least 2lbs per month. A lot of people will think this is slow but your body can only build so much muscle at a time, the rest will be stored as fat.
Tip#2 Analyse your Current Diet
This is a time consuming but critical part of learning how to gain weight fast and improve your eating habits. Over the course of a week try and write down every bit of food or drink that passes your lips. You can then use an excellent app called My Fitness Pal to analyse how many calories you are consuming on a daily basis. Better still; the app will break down those calories in to protein, carbohydrates, fat and other minerals for you.
Once you have done this for a week you can then add up your daily calorie intake and divide the total number by 7 to find out your average daily calorie intake.
Tip#3 Make Changes to your Diet
Now you know your average calorie intake, you should;
  1. Calories: Add between 300-400 calories a day more to your existing average calorie intake
  2. Protein: Consume 1.6 grams of protein per kg of body weight.
  3. Fats: 20-30% of your daily calorie intake should be from healthy fats.
  4. Carbohydrates: The rest of you calories should come from carbohydrate, fruit and vegetables.
Tip#4 Eat Quality Food
Try to eat good quality protein, carbohydrate and fats. This will ensure that you aren't packing too much unwanted fat. Add these foods to your shopping list;
  • Protein: White fish, lean poultry, lean red meat, canned tuna, eggs, skimmed milk and lentils
  • Carbohydrates: Wholemeal bread, jasmine rice, potatoe, pasta, bagel, oatcakes
  • Fats: Olives, nuts, seeds, fish oil, flaxseed oil, peanut butter
Tip#5 Use Supplements
If you can afford supplements then you should use them! They are an excellent way to easily fit in high quality calories in to your busy day. Ensure you stick to the basics of whey protein, creatine, mulit vitamins and BCAA's.
Tip#6: Workout with Compound Exercises
If you're not doing so already then you need to start working out. A beginner should aim to train 3-4 times per week with a rest day in between to help you recover.
To gain weight you need to do what's called compound exercises. These are multi-joint exercises that stress lots of muscle groups at the same time - exactly what you need to do to gain weight fast. Examples of these exercises are:
  • Squats - An excellent all body exercise. A trainer once told me, 'Big legs, big boy'.
  • Deadlift - Great for strengthening your hamstrings, glutes an core.
  • Bench Press - The bench press will help you develop your chest, triceps and shoulders
  • Pull ups - Pull ups aren't easy but your back and biceps will explode in size with this exercise
  • Shoulder Press - Try to use free weights over using shoulder press machines.
Tip#7 Rest and Re-hydrate
Your non workout days are more important than your workout day! That's right. Use your rest day to re-hydrate, re-fuel and relax. If you don't rest then how and when do you expect your body to relax?
Feed your body with quality foods like the ones discussed in tip 4 and drink plenty of pure water.

Advanced High Intensity Training Variables

In previous articles I explained in great detail the many different HIT or high intensity techniques that are used to increase intensity during bodybuilding training to dramatically increase muscle size and strength.

Variables such as forced reps, negatives, negative-accentuated, omni-contraction, rest-pause and many others were included in routines that reward the bodybuilder with much more rapid gains than traditional, lower intensity programs will.

One of the techniques, Rolling Static Partials, was utilized in several of the routines. Instead of rehashing all of the variables explained in my previous article this article is going to focus on my Rolling Static Partials variable, explaining it in more detail.

What makes this HIT variable so effective? Each of the other variables effect the muscles being trained in a unique way. Rolling Static Partials combine the benefits of all three.

Burn reps increase the intensity by quickly accelerating demands on the muscle by grinding out additional short reps after the trainee is no longer capable of completing more full reps.

Partials, or zone reps, focus on maximizing effort on different portions of an exercise and enable the lifter to hit muscular failure more than once during an exercise. There are endless variations on zones in an exercise so this variable allows one to train a muscle with what amounts to a new exercise every session if desired.

Super-X Contractions is a versatile technique, which like zone partials, offers nearly limitless variations. For example, holds can be done at the sticking point of an exercise or at the portion, or zone, where you are strongest. TOC, or time under contraction, can be 1-40 seconds in duration depending on the desired effect. This is one of the most, if not the most intense variable, making it one of the most productive for muscle-building and strength development.

Partial Reps

One of the most effective variables for overcoming and training beyond sticking points in an exercise, whether its one of the power lifts or a regular training exercise, is partial reps. This is due to its ability to isolate and train an individual portion of a movement and build its strength. This in turn enables heavier weights to be used and additional strength to be built.

Another reason this technique is so effective is the multiple times failure is achieved during a set. When an exercise is done in the traditional way failure is attained once. When partials are used each zone is taken to failure, increasing total set failure 3-6 times! Remember the success of a set, and training for that matter, is the amount of effort put forth. If sets aren't taken to failure then the results obtained will be substantially less than what is possible.

The variations within a partial set are virtually unlimited. A rep can be divided in half, thirds, quarters or any combination. A rep can be restricted to a very limited range and further divided into training zones. As you can see the opportunities are unlimited when it comes to this technique.

Repairing defects in free weight exercises

One of the problems with free weights is the imperfect leverage the barbell or dumbbell gives during an exercise. There are points in an exercise where the barbell gives ideal resistance but the angles vary greatly and resistance levels change dramatically throughout. Properly calibrated weight machines fix this problem by varying the resistance level as the leverage changes to maintain the proper workload for a given muscle. Partial reps allow us to remedy the leverage problem by changing the weight for each zone mimicking the action of high quality weight machines.

Lets break down a dumbbell curl and see how we can improve it by zone training. If you typically use 50 pounds in the dumbbell curl do 8 reps in the bottom third zone to failure. Immediately reduce the weight to 40 lbs and do as many reps to failure as you can in the middle third. Reduce the weight further to 30 lbs and do as many reps as you can do in the upper zone.

As you can see, we have altered the weight in a similar way that a weight machine does to provide an even resistance level throughout the curl, increasing its effectiveness.

This principle can be used in any free weight exercise where there are mechanical disadvantages.

Rolling Static Partials are performed in the following way:

Bench Press- 12 reps

Press the bar up 1/3rd of the way and hold for 10 seconds before pressing the bar to mid-point. Do a series of short 2-4 inch fast pulsing reps before doing 4 reps in the top zone of the lift. Continue doing random holds, burn reps and partial reps until you have completed a total of 12 reps.

This variable can be used with any exercise to break through sticking points and allow heavier weights to be used during the traditional performance of an exercise.

Give this a try and you will surely build more muscle and strength faster than before.

Easy and Best Bodybuilding Tips for Beginners

There are so many bodybuilding tips and free workout routines available on the web these days, and there is ever increasing interest of people in bodybuilding programs. Many people want to build muscle, but do not know how and where to start. Some people do hire a personal fitness trainer for this purpose, but many do it by their own and fail because of not having background knowledge, proper bodybuilding workout schedule and their set fitness goals. People start bodybuilding without any proper planning and quit quickly when they fail to get any results.
Here I am going to discuss some basic, but very useful bodybuilding tips for beginners, and I hope if followed in the right directions, can provide you great results.
Come up With a Plan:
Before starting any bodybuilding program, it is highly recommended that you should come up with a proper plan. Always set your goals realistically to make your bodybuilding program successful. If you set your goals unrealistically, simply you are setting up a failure plan for yourself. After setting proper bodybuilding goals, do stick to them and always try your best to follow them in the way they are designed.
Bodybuilding and Diet:
Almost all bodybuilding programs involve some strenuous exercises, so your body needs extra energy for such workouts and exercises. Diet plays a major role in the bodybuilding process, and you should eat healthy diet and supplements to fuel your body. Try sticking to whole organic foods which offer a blend of complex carbohydrates, fats and complete proteins. Nutrition affects almost every aspect of your lifestyle, so it needs to be balanced and coordinated according to your desired fitness goals.
Food Supplements:
Protein Intake
Protein is the most common supplement used for bodybuilding. One of the best things about protein is that it gets absorbed in the body very quickly. The high content of cysteine amino acid in the whey proteins makes them highly beneficial supplements for bodybuilding.
Testosterone Supplement
A high level of testosterone helps in burning fats and building muscles. There are so many natural ways to increase testosterone level in the body using supplements. Tribulus Terrestris, a natural herb, can boost testosterone level tremendously.
If you are going to consider supplementing your diet, keep it simple and always keep in mind every supplement has its own value. Soy, whey, creatine monohydrate, caseinate proteins, electrolytes, multivitamins and etc. are all great supplement options.
Train Your Brain Too:
The best athletes/sportspersons train their minds along with bodies in order to become successful. If you want success of your plan, you need to prepare yourself mentally too. Always focus on your goals and keep an eye on your short term and long term goals, and when following your bodybuilding workout schedule, only focus on your exercises both physically and mentally.
Do Variety of Trainings:
To make your bodybuilding program successful, keep on changing your training regimes instead of repeating the same workouts every time. Compound exercises, which involve at least two or more sets of your body muscle, are the best workouts for bodybuilding. These variety of workouts and exercises not only help you keep motivated and active, but also help in achieving your goals quickly.
Rest and Sleep:
Many novice bodybuilders always forget the importance of sleep and rest for building muscle mass. Your muscles grow when you sleep, so if you are not getting enough sleep you are not allowing your muscle to grow. Your muscles need some rest for wear and tear they get during your strenuous workouts and exercises. Simply, allow your body adequate sleep and rest during your workouts to make them grow in the way you want.
Consistency is the Key:
The last, but the most important bodybuilding tip is to be consistent no matter which bodybuilding program you are following and what goals you are going to achieve. If you are following all above tips, but not consistent in following any of them, you are simply wasting your time and energy. So, it is very important to follow your workout and diet plans regularly to make your bodybuilding plan successful.

How to Lose Weight - The Most Important Thing You'll Ever Read

You have a perfect driving record. Been driving for years, and not even a minor fender bender.
One day you're not really paying attention, the car ahead of you stops short. SMASH!
Perfect driving record down the crapper... you say screw it. Pedal to the metal and charge into oncoming traffic
"I'm gonna steam-roll anything that gets in my way!"
Ridiculous right? No sane person would ever react this way. What is so different about dieting? Even the most rational people in the world take this approach to dieting.
"I've been so good for a month now, but I had that piece of cake at the birthday party today. The diet is shot. May as well grab two pizzas, a tub of ice cream, and three bags of Doritos on the way home."
What gives?
Redefining Diet
This is it. The gem you came here to find. How to lose weight forever. It's all about changing the way you think about diet.
A diet is not a diet. From now on this word "diet" does not mean a temporary plan followed for six weeks to lose fat.
It means what you eat day in day out, for the remainder of your natural life.
Diet means meat, eggs, fish, vegetables, berries, nuts, and fruit and carbs depending on your goals. Your diet can be adjusted to help you lose weight, gain muscle, or just stay as you are now. But it is based on eating real food, and it is what you are going to eat every single day, until the day you die. Barring any unforeseen Hollywood endings, this is going to be a long time. It seems pretty likely that at some point before you die, you are going to make a "mistake" or two. But, here's an idea, instead of calling it a mistake, why not call it what it really is? A treat.
Treat
An event or item that is out of the ordinary and gives great pleasure
Out of the ordinary. Not a daily occurrence. Gives great pleasure. Pretty damn tasty.
Have the pizza, the cake, the ice cream. It's a treat, and life should be full of treats of all different kinds. A nice dinner, travelling to another country, a long weekend camping trip, a night at the movies, a slice of cheesecake. Enjoy the treat, then go back to eating real food. There will be another treat soon.
If weight loss is your goal, scheduled cheat meals are an invaluable tool. But, instead of calling them cheat meals, let's say treat meals. There is no cheating involved here, this is all about enjoying something out of the ordinary. Pick a couple meals each week, and treat yourself. Notice the word is meal, not day. Going nuts and gorging for twenty-four hours is the behavior you are trying to avoid. Instead, go out for dinner with friends and eat something you would not normally have in your diet. Have a cheeseburger and fries. Not three cheeseburgers with extra cheese and bacon, fries with gravy, and a side of onion rings, just a regular treat meal.
Make a point not to skip these treat meals. Knowing that you can have a treat every now and then makes sticking to your regular diet of real food much easier. It's tempting to skip them, thinking that you will lose fat faster without them. The problem is that cravings can build up and that is when you find yourself careening down the wrong side of the road with a family sized bucket of KFC in the passenger's seat.
If you really want to be strong and lean for the rest of your life, make the choice to only eat real food, with the odd treat thrown in here and there. Look at the people in your life that have the physique you wish you had. I'm willing to bet that this is the way they eat. Most of the time they eat a balanced diet of meat and vegetables, but once or twice a week they have something out of the ordinary. They don't get down on themselves after eating it, they enjoy it for what it is... a treat.
You can do this too. Get the idea of dieting out of your head, and replace it with healthy eating as a lifestyle choice. Then throw in a treat here and there to enjoy life, and stay sane.
What are your favorite treat meals? When you are trying to lose weight, how long can you comfortably go before the cravings kick in?
We would love to hear from you at http://www.straightupstrength.com. You will find other useful tips on weight loss and muscle building, as well as lots of information on living a fit, healthy life. Hope to hear from you soon!

Diet Tips for Post Workout Drinking

Being in college, it is natural for people to party and drink socially, but there presents the infamous question, "How bad is drinking alcohol after a workout?" Will going out on the weekends have bad effects on your fitness efforts? Well, the consequences may not be as bad you might think there are two things you need to keep in mind, alcohols effects on both muscle recovery and body composition.
1. Make sure you are taking in protein once you finish a workout. There was an experiment focusing on post workout drinking that had the athletes get drunk after an intense workout session and as a result, their protein synthesis when down almost 40%. These athletes were then set up for another trial, where they were given a whey protein shake before they started drinking, and the amino acids in the whey were able to reduce the effects of the alcohol to almost 20%. Even though this may still seem like a lot, drinking this heavily once a week is not a big deal. Also if you did something that lowered protein synthesis three times a week, it still would not be that detrimental to you. Also, the athletes in the study were taking in around 8 vodka shots in a short amount of time, obviously if you drink less, the effects on protein synthesis will be less. So next time you plan to go out with your friends post working out, have some chocolate milk or better yet, have a protein shake at the ready, and you will not have to worry about ruining your hard work.
2. Another thing you are going to need to watch is the calories of whatever you are drinking. If you are trying to lose weight, or even maintain it, calories always matter! Try to make it your aim while working out to have 5 drinks a week, and change it from there depending how your weight loss is coming along. If you drink this much a week, your body will benefit by increasing your HDL cholesterol, but anymore and the extra calories start to outweigh the benefits toward your HDL cholesterol. Keep in mind as well that all drinks are different in the amount of calories you take in. Having drinks with sodas and juices as mixers can end with you overloading on calories and end with a bad hangover from all the sugar. Try choosing simple drinks like vodka and club soda where you can still party and minimize the amount of calories you take in.

How To Keep Your Focus On Losing Weight

A lot of people want to lose weight but many of them fail to do so. One of the main reasons why people tend to fail at losing weight would be because they tend to lose their motivation towards attaining their dream figure. Trust me, losing weight is pretty difficult especially if you don't really focus into it and you don't have enough people to back you up. I've met a lot of people who tried to lose weight for a couple of months and after that they just quit before they got tired.
So how do you exactly stay motivated?
1. Make it a habit
According to a popular saying, if you something 5 times consistently, it will become a habit. When it comes to weight loss habit, I'm not just talking about going to the gym and eating the same kind of food but rather having the habit of staying healthy which includes doing the right methods and also having the right mindset. If you truly want to lose weight, don't focus on losing those pounds but rather focus on becoming healthy.
2. Follow the right people
As much as possible follow the right people who really knows a lot about losing weight. Make sure that you do your research first about someone before actually buying into their ideas and products. Go for people who actually lost weight using methods that they are not afraid to disclose. When it comes to going for the person to mentor you, you have to be very careful because the wrong kind of mentors could really mess up your health.
3. Have a good support group
One of the best ways to lose weight is by doing it with people that you already know. If you go to the gym with your friends who also do workout regimens then that would be a great push for you since the gym experience will make it less tiring and more fun. Aside from that, having a support group will definitely be great since they could encourage you to keep on going.
4. Use the right weight loss products
There are tons of products that could help you cut your weight, it could include workout tools and even weight loss supplements. When it comes to weight loss supplements, it is important that you should go for ones that could help you lose weight naturally this is because undergoing natural weight loss is less risky and at the same time more effective.

This Is The Real Problem

There are some days when I will not be following my normal eating plan. For example a day in the school holidays where my son is off school and I book the day off work to take him and the family somewhere for a day out.
I will definitely have a coffee or two and will probably have at least one "treat meal".
I could have anything like a pizza or a burger, with a few chips and a coke of course.
I tell you this so you know I'm normal, I eat bad food too, so do my clients.
The big difference is, it's usually in context.
This type of indulgence has been planned in.
It is not an emotional reaction to something bad that happened.
I knew we were going on a day out and I have planned ahead.
Planning your "blow outs" is the biggest change in many of my clients and a major reason for their long term success.
They move away from the destructive emotional and impulsive eating (AND drinking).
And they move toward stable planned "treat meals".
Sounds boring but it's not. It's reality.
This approach allows you to live life and enjoy a good night out (without feeling guilty).
Without fear of putting it all back on.
For most people losing the weight is not the major problem.
The problem is - KEEPING IT OFF.
Anyone can lose weight, but why is it only some people can keep it off FOR GOOD?
I think its down to your approach and mindset, amongst other things.
I can't tell you exactly how to do it ALL in this short article, but I can tell you this:
You need to restructure your life, do the nice treat things a little less often.
You need to start to learn how to cook a few TASTY & CLEAN meals.
NO ONE can eat and drink what they like and not suffer consequences.
It requires willpower and self discipline.
It requires you to go more than a week without a blow out or binge.
It requires you to learn what happens to your body when you eat different meals at different times.
It requires you to realise how good you feel when your "on the diet/healthy eating"and how bad you feel when your not.
It requires you TO WANT to feel good and NOT to feel sluggish and tired anymore.
If my clients have a "special occasion" coming up they will have a good run up to it.
Usually they would have been 2-3 weeks eating clean between major indulgences.
This switch in approach is a BIG key to permanent change and keeping it off - in the LONG TERM.
This will allow you to have a few drinks and eat a bad meal every now and then and know the wheels are not going to come flying off.
Give it a try.
