Computer has become one of the major causes for eye problems because nowadays people are just not able to live without computer. Staring at the computer monitor all day long is just part of our lives. Therefore, it is hardly possible to maintain the health of our eyes under such computerized circumstances. Your body is the boss.
Your body will do a better job in determining if you are tired and strained than your conscious mind. When you finally realize the damages to your body and eyes, it is probably too late. So it is highly recommended to listen to your body. Take a break every hour and walk around a little bit. But a break is not enough for the eyes. They need to look away from the screen from time to time, preferably every quarter or twenty minutes. Look from near to far. This way will allow the eyes to adjust themselves, helping with the relaxation.
Keep your eyes lubricated.
There are three ways to do this. The firs way is to roll your eyeballs often. This may look weird when you are doing it with your eyes open. You can do this while keeping your eyes closed so that you can avoid being caught. The second way is to blink as often as possible. The eyelids play a role of cleaning the eyeballs. The third way is to yawn. When your yawning, you often feel that your eyes is moistened with tears which are not caused by crying, of course. Yawn can also have the muscle on the face relaxed. The only thing about this is that it is impossible to yawn whenever you want. All you can do is to not press it when it comes.
Do not stay still.
Moving your body, chair, monitor and keyboard may seem strange, but good for the health. Adjust them from time to time can make you feel comfortable and prevent your body from being exhausted. Another thing you should pay attention to is that the monitor should not be exposed to glare. Adjust it when the sunshine moves or equip your monitor with a protector.
Keep your working space bright.
