Secrets of Bad Breath Home Remedies Revealed!

Bad breath or halitosis refers to the condition of a foul smell coming out of the mouth. Although, more or less omnipresent, yet this problem is more chronic in some people than the others. The problem can be a social disaster and has the potential to turn a sweet date sour for no apparent reason. The problem of halitosis is sometimes more complicated because the person with a halitosis often does not realize that the mouth is smelling so bad. Although there are several factors that are behind the menace of bad breath, yet the prime reason is the presence of anaerobic bacteria like the H.Pylori and the S. Mutans inside the mouth. Such bacteria thrive on the food leftovers and the dead cells of the mouth. Luckily, there are some very useful home remedies to fight halitosis.
The most obvious remedy is of course to properly clean the mouth after every meal and brush the teeth minimum two times a day. The brushing of the teeth must also be accompanied by other cleanse procedure like the scrubbing of the tongue and flossing of the gaps between the teeth. The scrubbing and brushing are very important processes because such bacteria generally thrive on the upper surface of the tongue and the spaces between the teeth. While cleaning it is worthwhile to pay more attention to spaces like the posterior portions of the tongue and the back surface of the front teeth. The food leftovers and the dead cells are found mostly in these regions of the mouth.
Incorporating some little changes in the food habit can also act as effective home remedies to the problem. Firstly, drinking a lot of water over the day and with any meal will always help to keep the bad breath away from the mouth. Secondly, try to avoid food items like garlic and raw onion because the volatile oils present in these let their presence feel sometimes even after three days of the meal. Thirdly, include items like parsley, mint, clove and sunflower seeds with the food to avoid the problem of bad breath.
Since the main aim is to keep the mouth clean and as much bacteria free as possible, so there are many several ways to do it. The effect of fresh fruits and vegetables in curing bad breath has also been proved beyond any doubt. Especially, zinc rich fruits are most helpful in keeping the bacteria in check. You can also have unsweetened lemon syrup made for yourself to get rid of the bacteria inside the mouth. The unsweetened and brewed variety of green tea has also been found very useful in fighting bad breath. Taking decisions like giving preference to a low fat and low-carb diet over a high animal protein diet can go a long way in fighting the bad breath. Avoiding as much alcohol as possible is also important in fighting against bad breath.
Other home remedies that have been found useful in fighting halitosis are using a baking soda paste, at least once a week to clean the mouth. Baking soda helps in the fight by altering the pH environment of the mouth to such a level that the bacteria find themselves in a fatal environment. You can also use hydrogen peroxide as a tongue cleaner to get rid of the problem. However, it must always be remembered that such home chemical treatments must never be carried on excessively and in a hurry.
