Eyes - Most Important and Much Ignored, Simple Care Tips for Your Eyes!



I work at the computer for long hours. I have timed myself sitting in front of the laptop at least for 8 hours a day constantly peering at the screen to find more information. Yes, at the end of the day it is tiring, my brain is exhausted, my back is aching and there is one more the eyes which are so tired, that they refuse to look or concentrate on anything else.
It is quite common that though we are well informed and understand that it is the eyes that take maximum stress when we work on the computer we feel eyes will repair themselves when we shut them off during sleep.
This is a wrong notion, we need to take proper care of the eyes so that these stay healthy and we neither have to face the problem of being bespectacled or irritation that can go on to become something serious.
How will you know your eyes are exhausted and need rest?
Believe it or not, our eyes are more stressed out today than they were ever before, with the advent of the television, the first effects were felt by increasing numbers of adults and children who went to the ophthalmologists and eye doctors to get their eyes checked because they could not see clearly anymore, this situation got worse when computers came along, those who did outside jobs were able to make their eyes survive for a longer period, today most of the people who work on computers do not have perfect vision but they hardly notice it.
You will know your eyes are tired when:
1) Tihere is a burning sensation after some hours of your starting to work in front of the computer or watch the television.
2) When you switch these gadgets off, and gaze in darkness, it is likely that your eyes will start watering giving a discharge that is slightly thicker than tears.
3) For some their eyes will pain and it will be impossible to keep them open for a long time.
4) Redness in eyes will become a common factor, you will not be able to stand fast wind and you will actually feel like shutting down your eyes.
5) Some people with eye problems may develop parsing error.
The above are just some of the effects, there are lot of people for whom the knowledge about the loss of vision came in quite late and now require to sport either the contact lenses or the spectacles.
You need to take care of your eyes, special regime that is only for the eyes should be followed and certain things that matter the most to your eye health should be paid attention to.
  • Make sure you do not read while lying flat, it generally stresses your eyes.
  • Make sure you wash your eyes with cold water at least twice a day;

  • Once you have finished your work or stopped watching television, apply ice for 3-4 minutes minimum to both eyes, the effect is soothing and your eyes will still be tired but the burning sensation is gone and you will feel relaxed.

  • Make sure you sleep for enough time or you will have dark circles around your eyes and your eyes will end ip looking dull and tired.

  • Protect your eyes from harsh wind or sharp sun rays, these too can prove to be damaging.
