7 Nutrition Secrets Every Healthy Entrepreneur Should Adopt

When you hear 'healthy entrepreneur' does it sound like something magical, unattainable by you?
Most of us have felt this way, but it's definitely attainable. The only problem is your stuck with this scenario.
It's 6am and you're already stressed. You have payroll, marketing, HR and one heck of a sales order to get out by 11:00am. Not to mention your sales meeting at 3:00pm and the dinner with a client at 6:00pm. You get home and your day finally ends at 10:00pm.
As business professionals we dive in so deep to our business that we tend to neglect almost everything else, especially our health. We always think about our health last, but shouldn't this be on our daily priority list?
I once heard a great saying "What's the most important thing in your life? Your life! Without you? You have nothing. What's the hardest thing to do in life? Maintain it.
Becoming healthy entrepreneurs isn't some dream.
It can be easy and an inch of guidance will bring you a mile of results.
Nutrition for entrepreneurs is still an oversight by most of us. We think we must work in our business instead of on it and on ourselves.
If this sounds like you, start by adopting these 7 secrets to become a healthy entrepreneur:
Drink Coffee
Coffee is my lifeline. Okay, not exactly but every morning I enjoy a cup while I write. It's therapeutic, relaxing and a great way to start the morning. The natural mix of polyphenol antioxidants (including chlorogenic acids), bioflavonoids, vitamins and minerals are a reason you should enjoy a cup of joe every day.
Eat Fat
What? But Nate, fat is bad for me. Wrong. Healthy fats are essential to you and if you like being you, then eat fat. This isn't a pass to a quick fast food binge. Healthy fats such as coconut oil, meat fat, olive oil, fish, and avocado are very satisfying and back a powerful brain boost. Your brain consists roughly of 60% fat..you need it!
Lose the grains
Avoid all the crazy insulin spikes from downing a big mac by eliminating grains. Yes, that means bread, rice and legumes. It's sounds difficult, but I assure you it's not. You'll replace all the grains with protein, fat, fruits and veggies.
Trouble occurs when you start mixing large amounts of dietary carbohydrates with fat. The "carbs" make it difficult for you to access the fat you consume for energy, which simply turns it into body fat if it can't be used as energy.
Stress Fruits and Veggies
The primary benefit of fruits and veggies is they keep your appetite in check. Okay, so this may not be the primary benefit but the one that doesn't get enough attention. They're also packed with nutrients and other good stuff. Don't avoid them, take my word for it.
Vitamin D
Most of us office dwellers are deficient in this essential nutrient but it's imperative to our overall health. It helps us kick the flu while our coworkers are sick, strengthens our bones, fights cancer and aids in insulin secretion. Either get in the sun every day, or take a supplement.
Don't stress water
Have you ever seen the gym rats carrying around a gallon of water? Can you now imagine yourself lugging it around or bringing it to a client meeting? Instead drink 8oz of water right when you wake up and when you feel your thirsty during the day. Don't force it. if you eat clean your get plenty of water intake from your food. Shall I stress veggies and fruit again?
Protein, protein, protein
You don't have to walk around with a steak in your mouth. Could you imagine your co-workers' reaction? Protein is important to building lean muscle mass, bone density and your body's day-to-day repair. It's essential to your confidence, health and overall well being.
As a business professional, these small secrets should be adopted by you today. They're critical to your success.
Let's be honest and think of a healthy you. What do you see?
Do you see confidence, proper posture, more energy and a smile that could brighten any room?
I see that too but frankly you can't get there by sitting in an office, snacking on snickers and going home to plop on the couch because you're exhausted.
You need nutrition to become a healthy entrepreneur and it should comprise 80% of your fitness goals.
