4 Key Strategies to Produce Healthy Drinks for Weight Loss

While you can buy things like healthy smoothies, fruit juice, and veggie juice, there are some compelling reasons to get a juicer and a blender and go at it on your own if you're interested in losing weight and becoming healthier.
You Know What's In It
Probably the best reason for making homemade healthy drinks is the fact that you know exactly what is going into it. The problem with buying drinks, especially smoothies, is that companies and manufacturers sneak a lot of sugar into these products in order to appeal to consumers and make them crave it more. Remember, when you're on the hunt for sugar bugs, anything ending in 'ose', such as fructose or glucose, is just sugar in disguise, as is corn syrup. When you make your own healthy drinks such as healthy smoothies, you can cut down or eliminate the sugars altogether, plus of course you can pick exactly what you want to make and it's cheaper as well since you can choose fruits that are in season and on sale or grow the ingredients yourself.
It's Cheaper
Have you ever sat down and figured how much you've spent on those healthy smoothies or on organic fruit juice a week? For example, if you have one smoothy from Booster Juice a day, that's $35.00 a week, $140.00 a month! Yikes! Now switch over to doing it yourself and add it up. Chances are, you'll be saving a great deal of money, aside from the initial investment into a juicer and a blender, by making your own healthy drinks. Healthy smoothies are much cheaper to make on your own. And as for the cost of things like sports drinks and energy drinks; well, after a week of healthy drinks you make at home, you may find that you can eliminate these caffeine mines altogether.
It's Far Healthier
Even the best fruit smoothies made by an organic seller is not going to necessarily be the best drink in the world to have. This is because of the base ingredients-the fruit juice-which is generally not freshly squeezed. Fruit juice usually has extra sugar, no fibre and is pasteurized which kills many of the vitamins and minerals found naturally in fruit. This translates to a fruit smoothie with far fewer vitamins, no fibre and extra sugar. If you make it yourself though, you can use fresh squeezed juice or fresh fruit and get all of the missing vitamins and fibre.
It's Fun!
There are hundreds of recipes out there for healthy drinks, from healthy smoothies to juices. With that many recipes, you're bound to find many favorites and you have the freedom to experiment with as many combination's as you choose. Want to make a dragonfruit/blueberry smoothie? Go for it! How about a banana/apple/grapefruit smoothie? Why not? Unlike stores and shops which can only offer so many flavors, your only limitation is what fruits or vegetables you want to buy and what you want to pair them with.
Homemade healthy drinks are well worth the extra effort and initial cost for equipment. You get a drink that has only what you want in it, they are catered to your tastes, is cheaper and fun to make. There is no reason to be bored or deprive yourself while you are trying to lose weigh; healthy drinks encourage you to be creative and still healthy.
