What Tretinoin Cream Can Do for You

While there are quite a few over-the-counter products that deal with skin health, few are as effective for moderate-to-severe skin problems as Tretinoin Cream.
Our skin goes through terrible abuses on a continual basis. In most cases, our skin has the ability to regenerate, healing the damage caused by the day's activities. However, in many cases, some folks have more sensitive skin than others. What often causes skin to be sensitive to irritation and rashes is a Vitamin-A deficiency, problems in the general skin makeup, as well as the harshness of the person's particular environment.
Essentially, skin takes abuse from a myriad of directions.
  • First, the dead and unhealthy skin on the very top layer harbors toxins.
  • Second, sensitive skin tends to develop reactions rather quickly.
However, if you were to remove the top layer, and then reinforce the subsequent layers of new, healthy skin with the necessary nutrients, you would effectively help heal the problem spots and renew the look and feel of your skin. This is why Tretinoin Cream is often so effective.
Tretinoin Cream's Effects
Tretinoin Cream is most used for skin conditions, such as acne, fine lines, wrinkles, etc. Basically, when you apply to the areas of concern, the cream first breaks down and removes the upper layer of dead skin. This 'exfoliation' process utilizes a 'chemical peel', which takes way the top skin cells that are causing the issues.
Next, because the new skin has been exposed, it can absorb the retinol (Vitamin-A), reinforcing it with the necessary nutrients that are needed to provide a more youthful, healthier complexion. If you follow the directions from your physician, you may notice that your skin looks younger, it retains moisture, it's softer, your fine lines and wrinkles are disappearing, and you are not nearly as prone to infection. However, there are a few unwanted side effects that may accompany this cream.
Common Side Effects and Allergic Reaction for using Tretinoin Cream
Perhaps the most common side effects are due to the chemical peel process: irritation, burning, itching, and sensitivity to sunlight. Because you are exposing new cells, these skin cells may still be underdeveloped. This is one reason why it is absolutely crucial to follow your physician's directions, as applying cream too frequently can cause these problems to arise.
What strengths tretinoin cream are availabel

Blood Clots - What You Need to Know

I don't know if you've ever thought about the complexity of blood clots but truly, they are. I mean, depending on where they are and what they're doing, they can be helpful or they can be fatal.
Take accidentally cutting your finger- you'll probably hold a towel over the area with some pressure until the bleeding stops. That's a blood clot you want. Your blood cells are working for you.
On the other hand, you're probably aware of the dangers of internal blood clots. But did you know there are 2 types of these blood clots?
There's arterial thrombosis-these are the types that form in your arteries and are most likely to cause a heart attack. Usually these affect people at risk of heart disease.
Then there's deep vein thrombosis-these can be painful. Marked by swelling, redness and pain, they can occur in people who are stationary for long periods of time. They can affect you if you're on a long flight or car trip. Walk around when you can to keep your blood moving. After surgery or prolonged bed rest a let massage will help keep your blood flowing. You don't want it to stagnate.
The problem with blood clots is they prevent adequate circulation of your blood which carries oxygen throughout your body. They can hurt and cause swelling at the minimum. At the extreme, they are quite dangerous to your heart and brain. If a clot develops in your heart, it can lead to a stroke or a heart attack.
The risk factors for blood clots in your arteries are high cholesterol and blood pressure, diabetes, family history and smoking. To reduce your risk, don't smoke and manage your cholesterol and blood pressure. Eat a healthy diet and get plenty of exercise to reduce your chances of getting diabetes.
In general, getting more exercise and making healthy eating choices will reduce your risk of these dangerous blood clots. You might also consider taking omega 3 fish oil supplements. These are natural anti inflammatories and blood thinners.
In fact, studies show cultures who eat a lot of fish-like Japan-have some of the lowest rates of cardiovascular disease and blood clots in the world. On the other hand, research shows people who eat little fish and lots of red meat have some of the biggest risks of heart disease.
Getting enough omega 3 fatty acids, like the DHA and EPA in fish oil is proven to benefit your heart and your brain. It can even lower your risk of dangerous blood clots by reducing chronic inflammation.

Keep Weight Off While On Vacation!

Everyone is planning their winter holidays right now. Now, all-inclusive resorts are lovely, but remember that just because you CAN eat anything you want anytime you want doesn't mean you SHOULD. Does being on holiday mean you gain tons of weight and get out of shape so your trainer has to kill you when you come home? NO it does not. You can still exercise while away, so at least you can still zip up your pants by the time you come home. Don't laugh - I've had clients gain 10 pounds in one week while on vacation! Don't let it happen to you! Here's a circuit to do with absolutely no weights.
Do it 3 times a week while you're away. (That's only 3 hours of vacation time - you can handle it.) Repeat circuit three times for one total workout.
10 regular pushups, 10 as fast as you can
20 squats, 20 squat jumps
1 minute sprinting (on the beach is even harder)
50 sit ups or crunches
25 jumping jacks
20 tricep dips on a stair
10 lunges, 10 switch lunges (jumping lunges)
1 minute stairs or sprinting if there are no stairs
30 reverse crunches (on back, legs up, hips come up off the floor - use lower abs for the lift)
30 pushups against the wall
soccer kicks ( do a back lunge but bring the back knee all the way to the floor when you lunge back and when you come up, kick that leg up high) x 12
1 minute plank
There! Now you can come home looking fabulous! Have fun!
